So I know a few people have expressed an interest in TTing and I thought I would bring to your attention the North Bucks Road Club 10 mile TT that is being held on new years day. You might think this is not the best time for a TT if you're planning on much merriment to usher in the new year, but I think it will actually be a great event to try a TT for the first time. Obviously, some people will still take it seriously but there will be many who will just be there for a bit of fun and to blow the cobwebs away after Christmas. I'm told that in previous years many people have done it on full winter bikes with mudguards and all, so it's really quite a relaxed event.
It will be held on the Stoke Hammond course which is partly dual carriage way but seeing as it's NYD morning I should think it will be very quiet (its hardly busy at the best of times!). It's not too far from Buckingham either which is good (many of the NBRC TTs are held on the other side of MK). Here's the course on Strava:
It starts at 10am, I think NBRC should post up some further details soon. I myself am planning on riding and I spoke to Mr Woodham not long ago and he said he was keen too, having missed the last couple of years; so if any Swan Wheelers were interested then you've got a couple of friendly faces there. The NBRC is a very friendly club anyway and they welcome anyone and everyone to their TTs - I wholeheartedly recommend you give it a try! (was hooked after the first one)
