Jesus @Chainreaction I was thinking of a pint of bitter shandy and some fish & Chips. But as a club we support people with problems and if its hard to avoid the special brew and Jägerbombs the club can stage interventions. However as a ride leader I understand my reposiblities to carry a medical kit and with this in mind I have updated my Biddon to deal with DTs ofter the pub stop.
In fear of being a kill joy, drinking alcohol and cycling will potentially land you on the wrong side of the law, just as drink driving would. I believe I am still correct in stating that if you were to be stopped ( or involved in an incident ) while riding under the influence you would/could still lose your driving licence.
This was certainly true in the 1970's as happened to an acquaintance .
