  • I am up for that, great idea.

  • Yes please, before the winter sets in.

  • Up-dated now and looking to fit this in the calendar in October OK.
    Keep it to a Sunday?
Another day that might suit, a Friday?
    Earlier Start?

  • This sounds good, if we agree a date then I can book it off work if in the week... I'm fairly flexible on the day but think a Friday could suit....

  • I'm up for a long Sunday ride my only comment is should the last stop not be a pub

  • In fear of being a kill joy, drinking alcohol and cycling will potentially land you on the wrong side of the law, just as drink driving would. I believe I am still correct in stating that if you were to be stopped ( or involved in an incident ) while riding under the influence you would/could still lose your driving licence.
This was certainly true in the 1970's as happened to an acquaintance .

  • On a Brighter note if anyone would like to attempt a shorter (60 mile) version of this ride at a slightly more leisurely pace I would be happy to lead such a ride!

  • Count me in for the leisure 60. Awaiting day and time to be confirmed.

  • Up for the long ride as well Paul but needs to be a Sunday for me please. Sounds great!

  • Looks like a Sunday it is, so how does the 16th October fit your calendars?
If ok I'll firm this with Paul and post to the ride forum. See you all soon as I'm not around for the next two Sunday's. 🚵🚵🚵

  • Jesus @Chainreaction I was thinking of a pint of bitter shandy and some fish & Chips. But as a club we support people with problems and if its hard to avoid the special brew and Jägerbombs the club can stage interventions. However as a ride leader I understand my reposiblities to carry a medical kit and with this in mind I have updated my Biddon to deal with DTs ofter the pub stop.
