I would be interested in trying this as a club visit.

Interested, I have an intro session to book at Lee Valley, so if I can get that done (and get on with it) I’ll join you on the next rung up. Club session also sounds fun. Saturdays preferable

Decided to go for a stage one introduction at the Lea Valley QE stadium for those new to it and @PatH will be organising first, look out for his post soon.
Then follow that up with a Stage 2 accreditation later.. -

@AdamPool, this was added some months back and as you can a limited response and is still in the club AOB minutes to sort.
The plan was to get a few of the guys through stage 1, as Pat has just done, yippee..
I’ve been there done that for S1 and l want to do stage 2-3 now and this is still on the agenda to do either at Derby or Lea Valley... expect a little later in the year now. -

I’ve done a “track taster” so not Stage 1 as I though it might be. - It’s a longer path than I thought especially as we are so far away from a velodrome - Birmingham will be open within 2 years
A private club event may be the way to go if. a; we can get enough club members together, and b; if they would let us ride together with different experience and ability

Oh and to add - I don’t think I’ve had a better time (on a bike), it’s absolutely brilliant
Its been a request a again on the last club survey and been a while since the club & a few friends had that enjoyable introduction to this different cycling world and an enjoyable time was had by all, so maybe it’s time for another visit?
There are two options available that I’ve been thinking of:
1) as an individual or buddy up and book into an open session of our choice to improve our accreditation levels? Personally I’ve done the introductory Stage 1 seasons 4 times now so looking to take that step-up to the next level to achieve a 2) Improved and 3) Advance level of accreditation.
Currently running on a Thurs 5-6 and Sat 6-7 at £16:10 an hour plus bike hire etc
For any takers you will need to sign-up for a Membership number to book.
via the web at http://www.derbyarena.co.uk/cycling/
2) as a club visit and book the track for an hour or two (?) with a coach as before, so to the costs: to hire the track in 2018 is £145 per hour for BC registered clubs. Cycle coach hire is £29 per hour per coach. Bike and shoe hire can be hired and paid for at reception on the day. Bike Hire is £8.10 for 1 hour, £13.45 for 2 hours. Shoe hire is £6.20.
We allow up to 16 riders on the track at any one time so if the group is larger than 16 the group will be split in to 2 smaller groups each sharing the track time equally (30 mins per group).
Will consider as before opening to non-member friends as before if necessary.
So guys & girls are any you interested to “tip your big toe into this pond” and/or head for a bigger challenge?
