Guy check out the route from Cranfield to Marston please, thinking that’s an off road section,
-
• #3
I’ve copied it from BMCC. Looked on google Earth and seems ok but don’t know how to check. Any ideas?

Just check it again on a online map I have & google earth and still not convinced it’s a road. All you can do is ride further up and cross the A421 at the junction into MM there to the stop. It’s a nice cafe too.

have a look at the gpx file in this web, you can overlay it on to ordnance survey - http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php

However, Paul is right, it goes on to a bridleway!!!

Just a word of caution, the main A421 is being closed all weekend from Bedford to the M1 junction so you may find a lot of traffic finding alternative routes around the villages!

Shall we change the stop??

If anyone is familiar with the roads beyond Great Brickhill, please look at the route and give me some feedback. Thanks.

Yes I think that it would be prudent following Grahame note as that’ll be a nightmare along there.
Also for your revised route from Hucot the Salford Road is no longer open to traffic, the last time I past it was all barriered (concrete locks) off but maybe passable?
With the wind How about an Upper Stowe route?

Great ride Guy - definitely counts as rolling!
Hi Swans
With this weekend seeing the first Sunday of October, it's once again time for a Gran Fondo ride.
A change from the original plan to Marston Forest Café (one for another day after a bit more research). Most of the comments below relate to this so disregard them.
We are now heading on a 66 mile route via The Dairy Craft Centre at Upper Stowe.
The ride is open to everyone but expect an average pace of around 16mph.
Wrap up warm as the forecast is chilly. Bring plenty of food, gel packs and drink as the stop is at 38 miles and I'll see you on Sunday morning.
**PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER START TIME - MEET AT 8:15AM FOR A PROMPT 8:30AM GETAWAY.
**
Please click "I'm attending" if you can make it.
Guy
