Hi All, the set date for this AwayDayRide is getting ever closer & a number of you have voiced your interest to me so can I ask if you going to join the ride you hit the Attending Button for obvious reasons- thank you.
-
• #5
I gave said yes, but just need to definitely confirm! I can drive you f I am ok.
-
• #6
Should be good to join you, plus Alistair if that's OK. Could drive as required and have roof rack for two bikes.
If there are sufficient riders who wanted a longer A ride variant happy to plan and lead it. However also happy to just ride the route as currently planned.

Hi Dick, the Peak District Ride is Sunday 30th June - are you able to do that date? This Sunday is summer solstice ride with all groups meeting at Thrift Farm starting at usual time at Swan Pool.

An update on travel, attendees (7 or 8?) etc for you.
Dick vL will be meeting us up there as staying for a few days.
Phil B & Ally will be be driving direct up from Brackley.
Stephanie, please take Pat & pickup on the way out & Niall at the garage?
PaulW, I’m hoping to take Anton who is currently extremely keen to ride but may have to drop out? - this will be a late call though. If a no show I’ll pair up with Niall & leave S with P ok. I will be in touch with you as soon as I can.We should look to let Niall & Dick disappear up the road for a while as a C ride ok. All ensure that you’ve downloaded the .gpx to your devices please as will allow us to be a little flexible in our efforts.
I have been researching the cafes in the town (some are closed) for us after the finish in walking distance hopefully, so thinking of the Flower Cafe (Market Sq) or Jack Rabbits (St John St)
Please just one more favour of you all - LETS ENJOY IT
Paul

@Stephanie, @Niall, Anton is no longer going unfortunately so it’s just us 4 (inc Pat) to go from Buckingham, so take you up on your offer Stephanie, ok..
Hello to my fellow Swans, following on from the success of our last AwayDayRide to Bristol/Cheddar here is another Adventure proposal for you to consider? As there were a few mutterings after Cheddar about & certainly somewhere I’d like to ride so I have planned a route in the Peak District for your considerations.
The ride route is mapped at 48 miles with some +4000 ft of climbing, 3 hrs @ 15 mph. This will head towards Bakewell before turning west to Monyash for the cafe stop at 24 mls at The Old Smithy Tea Rooms & Restaurant. Then onto Longnor after which we will turn south to Holme End to & through Stanshope (40), Ilam then back into Ashbourne to finish.
There is scope to modify the route either to a shorter (C?) or longer (A?) after the mid-stop if required? I’ll lead the B, for the A maybe someone would like to lead a separate ride or just combine as usual, so an can early call for A & C ride leaders.
Again meet at Ganderton’s on Sunday 30th June @ 6:45 for a 7:00 depart heading for Ashbourne, head to & up the M1/A50 to get there (100 Mls/2 hrs), use the free Car park at Cockayne Ave (DE61 1EJ) & at the finish there are 3 cafes: the Flower Cafe, Jack's Rabbits & the Courtyard Cafe & Bistro to choose from.
Please an early call for drivers/vehicles to carry those wishing to ride - thanks in advance to any of you that volunteer. So are you all up for another adventure? If so please click the Attending Button as usual & looking forward to all your comments.
