Midweek Club ride

Hi Midweek riders…
The forecast for Wednesday looks pleasant with a moderate NE wind.
We’ll be heading out for 41 miles via Chackmore, Lillingstones, Paulerspury and Blisworth, and back via Greens Norton, Abthorpe and Silverstone to the café at Whittlebury Bakery (late in the ride at 32 miles). Then a short stretch home via Silverstone and Dadford to finish on Stowe Avenue.

Please remember to bring a face mask and to socially distance when meeting up and at the café.

I hope to see you at the Swan Pool in the morning - please tap the Attending button if you are coming along. If we have more than six riders then we’ll split in to smaller groups before we leave.

Hi Mark, the road into Paulersbury is closed (10mls), well was on Sunday and was passable, may not be tomorrow as working day, maybe plan to ride through Whittlebury instead?

Thanks for the advice. I rode the route today (really glad I did!) and it was passable. A little messy on the rise to Paulerspury after the bridge, but ok. I talked to a local who told me they have now finished the works (after 4 weeks). So unless its wet overnight I think we can go that way, but we'll decide tomorrow morning.
There is also a Road Closed sign between Abthorpe and Silverstone. I rode through that too and there is pedestrian access through the works (which are in Silverstone itself).

I've decided to drop out - numbers are getting higher than I'm comfortable with - particularly as we will be tempted to dine indoors on chilly days. Might be worth considering running 2 rides on Wednesdays to different venues - if Boris doesn't preempt any decision we might want to make.

We split into three rides as usual B+, B- & C today plus ended up at two different cafes.
