I’m a little bit short of time on Sunday James, so depending on how we get on I might have to short cut back to Winslow somewhere between stewkley and padbury. I’ll see how it goes 😀

Brilliant!! Thanks James. I will join you, most likely somewhere near Great Hamden. Yes, I know, I will miss the climb but I will have done it Saturday morning!!!

Not sure of the current situation James, but someone brought this to my attention when I planned a route through Waddesdon estate:

Gutted to miss this one unfortunately. Not around for the next couple of Sundays.
Found a new cafe to add to the potential stops in the future - https://m.facebook.com/SpokesCoffeeHeyford/?refid=52&__tn__=C-R

Ooops haha! I couldnt remember who it was.
Hmmm not sure, I got the impression that both sides were permissive so permission would have been revoked for both. No idea if that's the case or not, but map shows no right of way on the road to the north. If they dont let you through then you'll just have to head up Waddesdon hill.

There are only two bits in Waddesdon that don't appear to be rights of way - one in the car park and the other at the top of the hill. I think we can risk it - worse case we exit through the greenway cycle lane to the east and ride up the hill on the road.

Go through Quainton. Right on Blackgrove Road. Over the A41. Up Wadesdon Hill. Not convinced you can go the way you have shown James but I could be wrong

Strava heat map shows lots of cycling use over the last 12 months:

We went up the hill on the main road last week so would prefer a different route - worse case is we just have to ride to the road anyway so I think we shall give it a go. -

Great to see you all, should be a good ride but very hot - please remember hydration and sun cream!
And to get you in the mood, some Saturday evening browsing:
https://cyclinguphill.com/100-climbs/whiteleaf-hill/
https://www.notinthepeloton.com/whiteleaf
As mooted last week, I thought we could try a ride into the Chilterns. Let me know what you think - it is slightly longer than usual, so if you think it is a bit too long let me know and I will plan a shorter alternative.
The route as planned heads south through the Claydons (annoyingly Sandhill Road is still closed), Waddesdon, Cuddington, Monks Risborough before the pièce de résistance at Whiteleaf Hill - a top 100 climb! We then head north east through Wendover to the stop at P E Mead's in Wilstone. A fairly straightforward run back through Aston Abbots, Stewkley and Nash, and finally via Padbury - where depending on our legs we can trundle back on the cycle way to Tesco or via Signal Hill to Gawcott.
It is going to be a hot day and the stop is not until 40 miles, so bring plenty of hydration and nutrition to stay cool and energised. And prepare with sun cream!
Length: 106km / 66 miles, with the cafe at 65km / 40 miles
Ascent: 870m / 2800 ft
Pace: 17 - 19 mph
Remember that a mask is still required - and please sign up if you are coming! Hope to see you Sunday.
