The White Horse Challenge looks like a well organised event through some lovely countryside, and not far from Buckingham. It might also be challenging enough to be a useful warm-up for those entered in the 'Fred Whitton' or 'Tour of the Peaks' events a few weeks later. Personally it will be my first ever Sportive!
Starting in Shrivenham (~50 miles from Buckingham), there are two routes offered which take in some of the most beautiful parts of Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, including Lambourn and Marlborough Downs and passing by chalk white horses:
90 miles, 5200'
70 miles, 4300'
The event fee is £35, including food stops, mechanical support etc - See the website and Rider Instructions for full details. The event raises money for WaterAid.
Registration on the day is from 07:00, and riders start any time between 07:30 and 08:30
Assuming there are other takers, I'm sure we can help each other with transport nearer the time.
Please hit the attending button if you decide to ride.
Thanks...Mark
