A ride to Emberton Country Park, Sunday 25 April

Placeholder for A ride on Sunday. With a north-easterly wind, will probably head back to Salcey Forest unless anyone can suggest any alternative cafe stops in that direction? (@PatH🚴🏻 ...?) In any case, I will plan a route that uses different roads from our recent trips so please come along and enjoy the ride!

The bike bus is open from this weekend, or try bounds cafe at Emberton Park. Further afield Emmaus in carlton.

@luke1809 don’t know if I trust the Bike Bus - it claimed it was open last weekend, but wasn’t. Are you certain it will open?

Their Facebook page says they reopen 24th/25th April weekend.

Quirk Cafe in Olney?

Maybe avoid the barn, it was closed last week when I planned a stop there. Only doing deliveries by looks of things. The place was all locked up.

How about a trip to Meads Farm at Wilstone or try the Lipscombe Park the B’s visited last week? Cross winds all the way 😂

We are happy to say that the bikebus will be reopening this weekend 24th & 25th of April. 9am to 4pm, Please remember that it will be outside seating for the time being and please bare with us as we work out how we serve in a timely manner.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am taking advantage of the wind to use one of them and go somewhere new - Grounds Cafe at Emberton Country Park.

We leave Buckingham heading north, through Silverstone and Blakesley, then turning east through Pattishall, Blisworth, Salcey Forest, Stoke Goldington, and Olney for the stop. Back on similar route to last week, through Gayhurst, Wolverton and Deanshanger.

Length: 56 miles / 90km, with the stop at 36 miles / 59 km.
Ascent: approx 750m / 2450 ft.
Pace 17-19 mph (no dropped riders).

Reminders: bring a mask, socially distance, meeting point A and click Yes, I'm Attending if coming.
