@KatieR - there’s now a coffee-break only event that you can sign up to!
-
This Sunday is our traditional winter solstice all-club meet-up, with A, B, C and Breeze rides available and cake/tea laid on courtesy of the club (in fact your membership fees!). I hope to see a number of riders out, but recognise that not everyone may fancy riding in the current conditions.
But you are still very welcome to attend even if not riding! Please join us at the George & Dragon, Quainton, between 10:30 and 11:15 (approx.).
Please can you sign up to this event if you intend to come, to help us plan for numbers.
(But don’t sign up if you plan to ride - please sign up to the relevant ride!)
Hope to see many of you there on Sunday, for the final club event before Christmas.

If all goes to plan then around 10:40-45 @KatieR

For the Winter Solstice all-club meet-up, we are heading to the G&D at Quainton where cake will be laid on!
Here is the A ride route - nothing too taxing for this time of year, and route options a little constrained with road closures, but hopefully this appeals! We include a couple of bumps at Ashendon and Canon's Hill to earn the cake, with a loop through Nash to get us back to Buckingham.
It would be great to see A riders old and new for the last ride before Christmas - please sign up by clicking the "I'm Attending" button if you fancy it!
Distance: 49 miles / 79km, with the cafe at 29 miles / 46km
Ascent: approx 2000 ft / 600m
Speed: 17+ mph planned**but no one will be dropped if you are unsure and haven't been out with us for a while.

It's been a while since we got out for a ride, but the weather is looking more favourable (well, at least for December!) so fingers crossed that we will get out this weekend. It is a fairly straightforward route, not too long, to get us back into it. The current weather forecast is cool, cloudy but dry.
Initially heading NW to Greatworth, our cafe destination is the Grain Store at Middle Aston, chosen both for the prevailing wind direction (a tail wind from from the W for the ride home) and that typically should have have enough space to accommodate us inside. Note that the ride is slightly front-loaded.
The route is taken from our cafe map route library:
Distance: 48 miles / 77km, with the cafe at 28 miles / 45km
Ascent: 2000 ft / 600m
Speed: 17+ mph (no dropped riders)Our speed will probably be to the lower end of our typical range given time off the bike and is welcome to any current, aspiring or lapsed A riders - no dropped riders!
Hope to see you on Sunday - please click the link the "I'm Attending" button above if you'd like to join.

Only get out once a week but really appreciate having the club in town as it has made it easy for me to go out more frequently and for longer rides - and with a great bunch of people.
