This is an opportunity to ride in the beautiful north Cotswolds and south Warwickshire plain, to clock a hundred miler and to tackle some legendary hills. Tim and I are using it as preparation for the Fred Whitton Challenge at the end of next week. Others are welcome to join us.
Given the amount of climbing and distance, I anticipate an average moving pace of 13½ mph, about 7½ hours moving time. With a lunch stop at Feldon Valley Kitchen and two cafe stops, there will be about 1½ hours of refuelling time. Add half an hour for luck, and we should be back at the cars around 5 pm.
You can ring me on 0741 391 1805 if you want to discuss.

I'm glad you made the right decision, Chris. Mine was probably over cautious, but I chose the option of riding solo today instead and staying a bit warmer.
As to Wednesday, the same situation may arise as it is forecast to be only 2 degrees at 8am after a cold clear night, which spells ground frost, so I may go out solo on Thursday instead. Come to think of it, it might be an occasion to use your Steeple Aston route as the (light) breeze is coming from that quarter.

Hello Chris, I've just seen your message. Yes, I was sure. Akeley is known for its sub tropical micro climate, probably due, as Stuart says, to being closer to the sun!
I might have risked riding as it was 3 degrees and due to rise, so any ground frost would probably not have felled me. However, I've been sticking to a simple policy about not going out in the morning if there is ice on the windscreen. Instead I did a short ride after lunch yesterday and a longer one this morning.

Hello Stewart, it says on the forum that there have been no views of this post. And no-one else has signed up. I wonder if there is an IT problem.
