The A ride this week heads to Norsk cafe in Haddenham. The Muswell Hill climb into Brill is our highlight on the way out, while Canons Hill features on our return, but otherwise not too bumpy. Summer now seems well behind us as it is slightly cooler but it looks as though it should be dry, with rain not forecast until the afternoon.
Distance: 88km / 55 miles, with the stop at 53km / 33 miles
Ascent: approx 700m / 2300 ft
Speed: 17 - 19 mphPlease sign up if you fancy it - hope to see you on Sunday!

@PatH🚴🏻🍌 says that there is a way through from Cosgrove to Old Stratford avoiding the A508 altogether (inc. a bridge over the A5), although I've never ridden it myself
-
Sorry for the delay but here's the route. I've kept it fairly straightforward given the weather looks a little damp, although the forecast keeps changing with less rain now forecast than when I checked a couple of hours ago!
We head into the wind, west as far as Bloxham, turning south to Sandford St Martin and then back via the Heyfords, calling in at Spokes for a coffee and hopefully a sausage roll if they have any left. The front-loaded route means a shorter return journey on familiar roads via Caversfield.
Distance: 83km / 51 miles, with the stop at 55km / 34 miles
Ascent: approx 650m / 2100 ft
Speed: 17 - 19mph, sticking togetherThanks for those signing up already despite the lack of route - anyone else is welcome to sign up - hope to see you all tomorrow!

This week all rides are doing some or all of the clover leaf 100 ride, and meeting up together at Westbury Cafe. For the A ride I plan to lead a c.60 mile ride doing two of the three segments, although the route posted features all three segments at 100 miles should anyone wish to continue. (Each segment returns to Buckingham, so you can decide at the time.)
Distance: 98km / 61 miles - extendable to 164km / 102 miles if you like
Ascent: approx 600m / 2000 ft (900m / 3000 ft for the longer route)
Speed: 17 - 19mphThe cafe stop is around 62km / 38 miles.
Hope you can make it, it will be great lots of club members meet up. Please sign up if so!

@MalcolmM - you are eight months too late for this ride! Did you post here by mistake?

@RobFactor👍 got confused, sorry. Probably more like 9:40am?

Apologies for the late posting of this ride but here it is.
With some heed to the easterly wind, we will take the opportunity to head to the iconic Musette Cafe (Aldbury) via a climb up Ivinghoe Beacon, a variation on a ride that @James_R led last summer.
Heading out via Winslow, Stewkley, Wing, Pitstone before climbing up Ivinghoe, we head across the top of Ashridge and descend Tom's Hill into Aldbury for the cafe. Back via Wingrave, Cublington, Whitchurch, Oving and East Claydon.
Distance: 97 km / 60 miles, with the cafe at 50 km / 31 miles.
Ascent: 790 m / 2600 ft
Speed: 17 - 19 mphWeather looks good for riding - hope you can make it - please sign up if so!

Thanks @James_R, change made - though not totally convinced - seemed to get hillier when I changed it! (Not much height gained on the way out but a bit of a saw tooth profile!)
-
Good point @James_R - I will adjust later today.

ROUTE UPDATED - following @James_R 's suggestion, we now head anti-clockwise. New routes below/attached are different from those posted before Saturday at 19:20.
For the A ride this Sunday, I'm reusing one of @DaveB 's routes from last year - albeit one he couldn't ride himself at the time!
Essentially we head 48 km NE into the wind via Beachampton, skirt north Milton Keynes, and Olney, to the cafe stop at the Boathouse, White Mills Marina, Earls Barton. Then we turn for home with the wind on our backs via Salcey Forest and Silverstone.
Weather looks dry and largely overcast, cooler than earlier in the week but not cold - the only slight issue being the 15 mph NE wind.
Length: 94 km / 59 miles, with the stop at 48 km / 30 miles
Ascent: 800 m / 2600 ft
Speed: 17 - 19 mph, depending on how we get on against the wind!Look forward to seeing you - please sign up if you would like to come along!
