Went there with the medium ride led by @PaulW today. Slightly pricey (£5 for tea and cake) but excellent food (Victoria sponge and bacon sandwich enjoyed by our group today) and endless refills on the tea made it a definite recommendation.
Slightly obscure to find - not in Woodford itself, turn out of Woodford on Station Road, climb up to two railway bridges (both of which cross over abandoned tracked bed) and turn right down a track (signed) immediately after the second railway bridge.

Glad you all enjoyed the ride and sorry I didn't keep up but I think I was better suited to the medium today (which luckily arrived on the same route and swept me up going past the race track!).
I wanted to say a big thanks to the Committee for responding to my initial suggestion and going with a step up ride today - I think it really demonstrates that we have a club that is responsive to the members.

Can't make that weekend, sorry @PaulW. Hope you have a decent ride and look forward to a repeat in the spring perhaps?

All very straightforward - thanks @MattH

Matt, Committee,
Something to throw into the discussion although I'm not sure it has an answer... There is currently a big gap between the medium ride (14-16 mph) and the fast ride (18mph). I don't think I'm the only rider looking for a ride around 17 mph which means that the medium ride can sometimes feel a little slow when it is closer to 14 - or (and I know that I am one of the culprits here) it cans sometimes go faster (>16) than billed.
No big deal but wanted to mention it in case there are any creative solutions. Of course the obvious solution is in my own hands to keep training and get up to 18mph!

Unfortunately while I survived the Gran Frondo last week, my bike needs a bit of TLC. With no spare bike I will have to miss it this week. Should be back next weekend and need to start thinking about a new bike for Spring...
