John,
I should be there!
The only thing when we did the ride on 10 Jan was that the tea stop came too early in the ride. We did pass a coffee shop a bit later on in Twyford - is this another option for a stop?
We also did a slight detour at Poundon, heading down to Marsh Gibbon and then back up to Poundon past the radio station, to get Poundon hill on the route.

It seems they hadn't got local villages on board for closing the roads...let's see if it takes off in June 2017!
"On behalf of the organisers of the inaugural Lane & Holmes Bedford 80 we have decided to postpone the event until June 2017.
We are grateful to Bedford Borough Council and Mayor David Hodgson for their support; however it has become evident that greater consultation is necessary with those villages on the route who are affected by the necessary short term road closures, and with those organisations whose events are on the same proposed day
As organisers we have been greatly encouraged by the reaction to the event by so many people, and the level of entry to date, especially for a brand new venture, has been impressive both from private individuals and from the many charities who sought to benefit from the fundraising opportunity that was being provided.

This may be of interest - a closed road sportive in Bedford: http://bedford80.com
Quick summary: Sunday 19th June, 50 miles, a bit pricey at £40 - but a local closed road event may be worth it! I've signed up!

Great ride today @JohnnyG.
@MattH - sorry to divert us from Jennie Wren's but I thought Twyford was pretty good!
