Hey Swans! Culworth is old, not just 'found-a-pound-down-the-back-of-the-sofa' old, but 'dating-back-to-the-Domesday-Book' old. It's been around since at least 1086. Then there's the Culworth Forge, a blacksmith's shop that's been pounding ironworks since the 1600s. Now pounding out flat whites to middle-class MAMILS and to the parents of overprivileged children snuggles up in £ 800-pound bugaboo prams pulled from the back of a Range Rover. It's going to be cold swans, so wrap up. We start off at 10 ude toa -2c wind chill at 09:00

The Journey Begins: Rise and Shine!
We'll kick off our day at the usual spot – Swan Pool, at 08:45 AM sharp. From there, we'll embark on a route that's as scenic as it is enjoyable. As we pedal through the countryside, expect stunning views, fresh air, and my attempts to entertain you with tales and trivia. Keep your ears open for my "Did You Know?" cycling edition – it's bound to be half enlightening, half amusing.Midway Merriment: Quainton Awaits
We'll take a well-deserved break at The George & Dragon upon reaching Quainton. This is where we toast (with the finest tea or coffee, of course) to the year that's been and the one that's to come. It's also a chance to relax, refuel, and prepare for the journey back. The Homeward Leg: Sharing and Caring
On our way back, I'd love to hear your highlights from 2023 – cycling-related or otherwise. The most engaging story will earn applause and maybe a special title of 'Storyteller Supreme' until the next ride.Safety Reminder: Serious Business
Safety remains our top priority while we're all about fun and games. Helmets, lights, and a keen awareness of our surroundings are non-negotiable. Let's keep it safe to ensure we have many more rides together.Wrapping Up: Let's Make It Memorable!

Hiya Swanos
Mursley, nestled in the verdant landscape of Buckinghamshire, is a paradise for bike enthusiasts who crave a pedal through history. As you cycle along its serene country lanes, you're tracing the very path of the old Roman road, an ancient thoroughfare that has witnessed the passage of time. The village itself, with its charming thatched cottages and the majestic St. Mary's Church, is a testament to its historical roots, dating back to the Domesday Book of 1086. Alternatively, have a sausage roll and brew🤷♀️Distance: 39miles It may be a bit cold and rainy

Hi Swans,
We are heading towards Ah, Tring—a delightful market town in Hertfordshire that beautifully balances old-world charm with modern convenience. Nestled amid the rolling Chiltern Hills, Tring is a haven for nature enthusiasts with scenic walking routes like the Ridgeway National Trail. The Tring Natural History Museum is a fascinating spot that would intrigue anyone interested in zoological wonders, originally founded by the illustrious Rothschild family. The town centre is a tapestry of Georgian and Victorian architecture. Hit that attend button if you fancy it!Distance: 50.87 mi
Parcore: Pretty flat with one official climb at Grove.
Weather: Dry, 15c, a lot less wind, but what there is will be on our backs on the way home.

Good day, Cygnini Tribe,
The ride is heading to Stanton St John. Stanton St John is that picturesque village in Oxfordshire you've always dreamt of cycling to but have yet to get around to(unless I've taken you before). Starting from Buckingham, you will traverse the rolling countryside before ascending to this charming enclave. Renowned for its fruit farms, Stanton St John might as well hold the 'Berry Capital of Oxfordshire' title—a distinction as sought-after as 'Best Jam' at the annual village fair. Now, let's talk historical quirks. The village church, St John the Baptist, has existed since the 13th century. That's so old; it's practically the architectural equivalent of a wise elder or Paul as we know him recounting tales of yore. So, if you're keen on a bike ride filled with idyllic views and farm-fresh fruit, Stanton St John won't disappoint. Just watch out for tractors; they're the local traffic enforcers and are not known for their patience with slow-moving cyclists.
Distance:44.27 mi.
Parcore: 4 short climbs classified as easy.
Weather: Dry,17c, SW wind 17mph.

Hiya Swans,
It's time to create and bevvy, or is it a bank of swans depending on your collective noun preference? We are off to Claydon House, an architectural marvel that offers a fascinating glimpse into British history. Built in the 18th century by the Verney family, who still reside there, this property epitomises Georgian elegance. Remarkably, the house juxtaposes grand Rococo and Chinoiserie interiors with surprisingly unadorned exteriors—a true feast for the eyes! One can't help but be captivated by the lavish furnishings and intricate wood carvings, notably in the Chinese Room and the elaborate Florence Nightingale exhibition, which honours the famed nurse who was a frequent visitor.Distance: 43.59 mi (Cafe at 25ish).
Cimbs: Nothing of note
Weather: Light rain and showers. It feels like 14c wind 17mph, gusting to 32.
