A few people from the club have mentioned mountain biking and with the nights drawing in and the weather turning colder (and possibly wetter) I thought a club off-road excursion is in order. I would like to gauge interest, agree suitable date(s) and a location. My suggestion would be Cannock on a Saturday, but might be too far for some folk.

This is currently doing the rounds at work:
The Roubaix Challenge a unique cycling experience is set to be the most exciting cycling opportunity yet! The Roubaix Challenge is a fantastic 155 mile bike ride for charity, over two days from London to the beautiful town of Lille in Northern France. Lille is very close to the town of Roubaix, most famous for its epic pro cycle race, the Paris-Roubaix.
The ultimate challenge is to ride the 163km from Busigny to Roubaix on the same course as the pros; however the 139km and 70km route will also give you plenty of opportunity to get to know the tough cobblestone sections of this infamous race.
For more information on the challenge please find the brochure and link below:

I've arranged to go to Mallory Park circuit on Wed 14th Sept from 6pm - 9pm, meeting with a friend and some members of his local club. It only costs £5 on the day and would be great if any Swan Wheelers could join us! Find out more here: http://www.cyclingmallory.com/

Thanks for your responses. Looks like Cannock is a favourite and in the absence of any other suggestions I'll put out an invite for a date in November.
Keith I would expect we would naturally group by ability and complete different routes and not necessarily ride in a single group. I've attached the Trails grade from the website http://www.chasetrails.co.uk/xc/
