For Independence Day we will mostly be descending on P.E. Meads Farm Shop, Nr Tring. A 55-mile route with a couple of lumpy bits.
Any C riders fancy a go? You're more than welcome.
Be worth packing a waterproof jacket just in case & face covering of course.
Please hit the 'I'm Attending' button, if this is your ride of choice.
See you Sunday -

The forecast for Sunday is mainly sunny with a light breeze, so we will be heading for The Milk Shed, Weston on the Green. A flat route, 48-mile route, providing an ideal opportunity for the faster C riders to step-up.
If we need to split into two groups a 2nd ride leader will be required, so a volunteer will be greatly appreciated.
Don't forget to fill your bidons, bring a face covering and protect yourself with sun cream.
Fancy it? Then please hit the 'I'm attending' button

A flatish 44-miler planned for Sunday stopping off at Liscombe Equestrian Centre, for some hearty home cooked fare. Tried to reduce by a couple of miles or so but those pesky road closures get in the way!
Lets hope the wind subsides to a gentle breeze to help us on our way.
Don't forget your face covering and please remember to socially distance at Swan Pool & the Cafe.
Fancy it? then please hit the 'I'm Attending' button.
Look forward to meeting up on Sunday

This weeks B ride is a 48-miler to The Pig Place, Aynho, cafe is a first for me. One or two undulations but nothing major.
Following the trend of recent weeks it is likely that the group will be split into two, therefore any volunteers for a 2nd ride leader is warmly welcomed.
Please remember to stick to the 'rule of six ' at the meet up point [B] and the cafe stop, also don't forget your face covering.https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/59014772

Roll up, roll up, this weeks SWCC will be a 30/35 mile loop stopping at The Forge, Evenley, for coffee on the green. The weather forecast is looking OK atm, sunny spells with a light Westerly wind that will help on the way home.
Will post the route by tomorrow evening, in the meantime if you fancy it, please hit the 'I'm Attending' button to help us plan the ride groups.
Usual rules apply with social distancing at Swan Pool & The Forge, and don't forget your face covering.
See you Sunday,

Here we go with Sunday's B Ride, 45 mile route on the rolling Northamptonshire roads. Outbound through Stowe, Dadford & Silverstone, taking the wind to Shutlanger then the Blisworth/Quinton loop. After a socially distanced coffee at Salcey Forest, we enjoy the tail-wind on the homeward stretch.
Forecast is bright with a moderate breeze, will feel colder with the north-easterly so wrap-up appropriately.Mark, will take your kind offer of leading the 2nd group, give Mr Woodham a rest from the duties!!
Please adhere to the current Covid guidelines when we meet at Swan Pool and at the Cafe, and don't forget your face mask. Malcolm has posted a message 'To All Riders' on the forum providing the detailed guidelines.

I will be leading the B ride this Sunday and plan to post the the route by Friday evening. Initial thoughts are to take a northerly ride through Northamptonshire to benefit from the tail-wind on the way home. Looking to stop off at Salcey Forrest for a takeaway cuppa.
In anticipation of the attendees being a similar number as last Sunday there is a strong liklihood that a another ride leader will be required to lead a second group. So, any volunteers ahead of Sunday, would be appreciated.

The last B ride before festivities begin is a 41 mile loop stopping at The George & Dragon, where rumour has it the Christmas cake is highly recommended!! Elevation is 1,700ft with the return leg benefiting from a tail wind, if the forecast remains unchanged.
Both the route and cafe area are Teir 3 compliant being within the Bucks boundary. The maximum of six riders in the group still applies, therefore if this number is exceeded a second ride leader will be required; first call for a volunteer please.
We congregate at Zone B, by the school in the Swan Car Park, please refrain from mixing with other ride groups before we set off.
Please also remember your face covering.

See SWCC C Ride 01/11/20 ............ due to the high number of attendees signed up for the C ride, currently 15, this is a seperate C ride to help manage the 'rule of six'.
Riders nominated for this ride are Sean, Sean's mate & Ray Southcott, led by myself. There is availability for two more new attendees.
The route is 42 miles, stopping at the G&D, Quainton, a table for six has been reserved.
The meeting point for this ride will be at the Car Park Ticket machine in the middle of the car park. Parking is free on Sundays therefore the ticket machine will not be used by members of the public. Please do not mix with the other 'bubbles' in the car park.

This Sunday the C ride will be taking on a 40-mile route, stopping off at The George & Dragon for refreshments, tables for 12 riders have been reserved at the cafe. There are a couple of long inclines on the way out, not too steep, and a rolling ride between Whitchurch and Quainton. All the effort will be worth it as we should get the benefit of a tail wind on the way home.
There is a chance of light rain, but Swans like the wet stuff, right! Seriously, the roads are likely to be wet and possibly muddy in places, particularly with the amount of road works going on, so please fit mudguards.
Martin has volunteered to support by leading a second group, if needed, so there are spaces available for another 10 members, 'first come, first served'. Please hit the I'm Attending button if it is your intention to do so.
Do not forget that the designated place for the C Ride to meet up at Swan Pool is by the parking ticket machine situated in the middle of the front car park. Please stay in this area before we depart. So, mud guards, check, face mask, check, waterproofs, check, cafe booked, check, ohh and don't forget to put your clocks back on Saturday night!
Enjoy your extra hour, and look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning, Stewart 07939 488797
