For a change...a ride out Southwest to Piddington, returning to Claydon House for our stop at the Pheonix Kitchen.
This is a 40 mile route with the majority of the riding done before the coffee stop, giving us a short run for home, and the opportunity for any Winslow riders to cut off via Addington, if they choose.
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/41536074Weather should be overcast, but dry and quite warm with light winds from the West.
Please do click the attending button if you are planning to join me.
At the cafe stop we will be complying with the Covid 19 rules by maintaining a 2mtr gap, and not exceeding the maximum number of 6 riders in a group. Facemasks should be worn to respect the cafe personnel.
Any other Swan groups should also follow suit, to comply with British Cycling guidelines.
We are enforcing this action, to help keep everyone safe until a vaccine is freely available.Hope you will join me,

As an alternative to Limes Farm, and aimed at a C ride pace of 14mph looping round 36 miles. I will be heading West to the Pig place, Adderbury. I haven't been there before, but with a Westerly wind it is a good time to try out this venue, and have an easy push home.
Route:
https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/40517470Weather is looking good until the afternoon, so maybe a light shower cape if you have one but probably won't need it. You never know in this weather.
Please respect Covid19 rules by wearing a face mask at the cafe. We will ride in multiples of 6 to comply with British Cycling rules, so depending on numbers may need another rider with map to be in charge of a group, but will ride the same route, hopefully within sight of each other.
If you wish to join me, you are most welcome to...please click the I'm attending button. Or, you may wish to use the route to make your way indepedently, it is up to you.

British Cycling Covid19 rules apply...Max group of riders is 6, face covering must be worn when being served for refreshments.
If more than 6 meet at the pool, preference will be to the first 6 that have signed on to the ride. A volunteer will be requested to take the remaining riders, preferably a rider with the map downloaded. The groups must maintain a distance between them to comply with rules and allow traffic to safely overtake.
The route will circle around Buckingham allowing multiple exits back if the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Extended Route: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/39785278The forecast is changing daily, so best to check before leaving. I think I will take a shower jacket...just in case, as it is so unpredictable.
Hope to see some of you at the pool for the start. If you are making your own way there, we should arrive before 10:30, so see you for a drink and chat.

Weather Permitting, we will have a gentle 23mile ride via Deanshanger to Beachampton visiting the latest cafe to open within our riding range.
For the faster riders, there is an additional 5Km that can be ridden, half before the cafe, half after. If you choose to do so, you must download the alternate route, and nominate a temporary leader to follow for the extra loops, as my priority will be leading the Leisure riders.Route: Maides Moreton, Foscote, Leckhampstead, Wicken, Deanshanger, Passenham, Beachampton [cafe Belge], Nash, Thorborough, Coombs, Padbury, Padbury Brook, Lenborough, Gawcott, Buckingham.
https://www.strava.com/routes/24069901Alternate Route: Maides Moreton, Foscote, Leckhampstead, Wicken, Deanshanger, Passenham, Calverton, Lower-Middle-Upper Weald, Nash, Beachampton [cafe Belge], Thornton, Thorborough, Coombs, Padbury, Padbury Brook, Lenborough, Gawcott, Buckingham.
https://www.strava.com/routes/24070066Weather: The forecast is for Sun, Temp 5-7 degrees with a windchill 0-1 degrees. If it turns out like Wednesday, the sun will make it feel comfortable. Wind fron the WSW at 17-20mph, so a bit blowy.
Please wrap up with layers, with particular attention to hands and toes. Carry a bottle to drink along the way, and a snack if you burn up energy quickly.
Carry a spare inner tube, as you will not want to try adding a patch in the cold. Of course, you will need tools to help you out.
And, wear a helmet!I hope you are as excited as I am to support this new venture, as it is in a prime location for us to make use of throughout the season.
Looking forward to seeing you once again,

Happy New Year of cycling! π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
This week a gentle 26 mile route at a steady pace South, looping West to Evenly [The Forge] before returning via Water Stratford to Buckingham. Relatively traffic free roads, so a ride to enjoy meandering through North Bucks/South Northants.Route: Gawcott, Chetewode, Stratton Audley, Hethe, Cottisford, Evenley[cafe], Mixbury, Finmere, Water Stratford, Chetewode, Buckingham.
https://www.strava.com/routes/23154337Weather: Overcast with 10% chance of a shower, so probably not. Temperature 6-8 feeling like 3-5 deg. Wind moderate from the SW 10-11, gusting 18-21.
All in all, a similar temp as before Christmas but without the sun to cheer us up along the way. A waterproof layer, gloves and overshoes are advisable, and plenty of layers to adjust along the way.
The C group are also visiting the same cafe under Pete Nesden's direction, If you are feeling good and want to challenge yourself, an opportunity for you to try out a longer route to the cafe. If not, you are more than welcome to join us π΄ββοΈπββοΈ for a gentle start to the new year.I hope you join a ride, meeting at the Swan Pool cycle rack, 8:45 for a 9:00 start.

Keeping it brief and simple, after the indugence of Christmas. There are few options for us in terms of coffee shops being open, so straight forward 22 mile loop around Silverstone, to keep the routine going and the leg muscles in trim. Stopping at Boycott Farm or Stowe Visitor Centre...your choice.
Route: Maides Moreton, Foscote, Leckhampstead, Wicken, Wappenham, Silverstone, Dadford, Stowe Vistor Centre, Chackmore, Buckingham.
https://www.strava.com/routes/22547807Weather: Overcast with a 10% chance of a shower, so probably not. Moderate breeze from the SSW, and temperature 6-7 deg.
So not freezing cold. Just wrap up warm, and wear those overshoes and gloves.
If you are interested, meet at the Swan Pool cycle rack at 08:45 for a 09:00 start. I look forward to your company once again.
Think I will require your help Paul π
