Copying the Bs this week and also aiming for Sacley forest cafe. Different route for us though - slightly longer at 54 miles and with a few more more lumps involved...

Sadly not due to be quite as sunny as it has been, but still mild and - most importantly - dry.

A Ride to the Barn at Upper Stowe.
I have planned a relatively mild (for Northants) route out through Charlton, up to Sulgrave, stopping at the Barn/old dairy farm and then back through Blisworth and Whittlebury. 53 miles and all fairly major roads, should be able to maintain a nice cohesive group (I live in hope 😅). Looks like it will be a tailwind return and the Met Office are currently guessing at dry and overcast.

Howdy Folks, I have dusted off my Genesis and Pierre has given it some much needed TLC so thought it was time to venture out en masse...
I have planned a nice gentle route to Waterperry. Only one brief period of exertion will be required 😉 - an ascent of the north face of Brill (Tram hill), apart from that it's easy going and only 48 miles.
Forecast is about as good as it gets for this time of year, 5-8 degrees, overcast, a minor westerly breeze. Should be frost free.
Pace will probably be around 17-18mph. Please click 'I'm attending' if you plan to attend.

A ride to the Quince and Clover cafe, Great Tew. (Yes, it is the third posting now, I am hopeful we will actually complete the ride this week as we have the weather on our side for the first time...)
A new cafe this week (I think). The photos look great and it's rated 4.9 out of 5 on Google, so hopefully it does not dissapoint.
Riding the loop anticlockwise, we will head out towards Banbury on Welsh Lane before dropping down into Fathinghoe, then Somerton and across. Cafe at 32 miles then home via Lower Heyford and Caversfield.
60 miles in total with a faily standard 2900ft of climbing. I'm pleased to say the cafe is located at the highest elevation of the route! Pace will be 18-19mph.

Weather looks good - cloudy with some sun, 20 degress, and a SW wind to carry us home
See you Sunday,

Hello James, looking at the weather and the rider numbers, I'm currently thinking that the A ride should link up with the Bs as we don't have the numbers for a 60 mile slog into the wind and the rain. B group is also down on numbers but planning a shorter ride to the Milk Shed so it seems sensible to join them.
Met office is currently forcasting heavy rain 9-10 and then light rain for the rest of the morning/lunch. Will check again in the morning but if it gets any worse I will be inclined to cancel all together.

Weather for Sunday looks mixed, but currently dry in the morning. Quite a strong WSW wind which will provide assistance on the return.
See you Sunday,

Weather for Sunday looks fairly settled, most of the current inclement stuff should have finished by then. Might even get some sun by the looks of things.
See you Sunday,

A Ride to Limes Farm at Farthinghoe
Just my luck, first Swans ride in a while and the Met Office has decided to put out a yellow weather warning for rain.... With that in mind I have planned a 60 mile loop round to Limes Farm which can be cut short if we get soaked.
Plan is to head north from Buckingham, loop around Towcester to Litchborough and down to Fathinghoe and the stop at 35 miles. Can then continue on the full loop down to Bucknell/Caversfield or cut it short and head back via Evenley.
Route here: https://www.strava.com/routes/2852143196072066262
Mostly fast roads (no gravel this time!) so would be great if we can work together to hit 19mph+. There's nice little climb to to Litchborough but we should have a bit of tail wind assistance for that.
See you Sunday.

Ooops haha! I couldnt remember who it was.
Hmmm not sure, I got the impression that both sides were permissive so permission would have been revoked for both. No idea if that's the case or not, but map shows no right of way on the road to the north. If they dont let you through then you'll just have to head up Waddesdon hill.
Howdy Folks,
For this sunday's A ride I thought we might head over to Quince and Clover at Great Tew. Weather looks reasonable (overcast, 15-18 degrees, light south westerly) so we can sit and sip our coffees on the green whilst soaking in the sublime surroundings.
Route is quite undemanding really (dissapointing, I know) - a couple of little climbs across the river Cherwell but otherwise gentle. You'll be pleased to hear that the cafe is pretty much at the highest point so that fact combined with the tailwind should make for a pleasant return. Pace around 18-19mph.
