I saw Mr Woodham had ridden this 10 mile out and back TT through Dadford a couple of months ago and I thought I would scope it out today. I have made a segment so others can give it a whirl if they fancy. Here's the link:

The start is at the top of the highest hill on Stowe Avenue. I think I've got it beginning just opposite or slightly after the field gate on the left (it's quite hard to tell on Strava) and then it finishes a little way down after the Chackmore turn but you don't have to go back up the hill thankfully!! I'd say start just before you get level with the gate to make sure it picks you up okay.
It's a decent little run apart from the hideous road surface on the way out between the Chackmore turn and the Stowe turn. Other that that there's no real drama, just dont get too carried away on the Dadford hill!

I'd encourage any and all to give it a try!
I really like Astwood, great course and being held out of the BikeBus is really handy - coffee, car park, cake, loos, nearly everything a man could dream of.
I did my first TT there back in June:

And don't be put off if you see some of the ridiculous speeds people do on the Strava segments round there - the course is also used for road races with some big bunches and very quick guys, hence the crazy speed of some guys. Nobody has ridden it in sub 20mins!!! It was won on the night I did it by a 22.36 and I managed 26.06 which put me in just about the middle of the field. See if you can beat it! ;)

I don't know as I'd go quite as far as saying I have a favourite! (does favourite imply that you like the thing in question or is it just the preferred option....hmmmmm)
But the best of a bad bunch would have to be just a nice steady sweetspot workout, maybe the lower half of SS/upper tempo so it's not too much like hard work.
I'm hoping that the days of the turbo are limited, not long until the clocks change now.

Looks like there's potential for a pretty action packed schedule there Paul!
I was wondering what sort of time might we need in order to get a place on a Bossard open on the F15? I know the F15 can be quite popular so do you think you'll have to limit it to only the fastest guys?
I won't be back from uni for the first one in May but I'll hopefully be able to put an entry in for the second one and by that stage I should have done a few opens and hopefully got a semi-decent time.

So I know a few people have expressed an interest in TTing and I thought I would bring to your attention the North Bucks Road Club 10 mile TT that is being held on new years day. You might think this is not the best time for a TT if you're planning on much merriment to usher in the new year, but I think it will actually be a great event to try a TT for the first time. Obviously, some people will still take it seriously but there will be many who will just be there for a bit of fun and to blow the cobwebs away after Christmas. I'm told that in previous years many people have done it on full winter bikes with mudguards and all, so it's really quite a relaxed event.
It will be held on the Stoke Hammond course which is partly dual carriage way but seeing as it's NYD morning I should think it will be very quiet (its hardly busy at the best of times!). It's not too far from Buckingham either which is good (many of the NBRC TTs are held on the other side of MK). Here's the course on Strava:

It starts at 10am, I think NBRC should post up some further details soon. I myself am planning on riding and I spoke to Mr Woodham not long ago and he said he was keen too, having missed the last couple of years; so if any Swan Wheelers were interested then you've got a couple of friendly faces there. The NBRC is a very friendly club anyway and they welcome anyone and everyone to their TTs - I wholeheartedly recommend you give it a try! (was hooked after the first one)

I plan to join you Paul :-)
(btw I like the sound of Waterperry more, but I'm easy either way).
