Hi...
For this Sunday's B-ride we'll be heading to G&D, Quainton.
47 miles (76km), and 1,800ft (550m) of climbing, with the café at 32 miles.
The route is Poundon, Blackthorn, Ludgershall, Ashendon Hill, the Winchendons and through the Waddesdon Estate to Quainton.
Note that the route uses Quainton Rd and Station Rd between Waddesdon and Quainton, but they may be closed for HS2 works. If so, we'll take the new section of A41 out of Waddesdon and then North on Blackgrove Road. The forecast is for a cool start, but dry and a light Easterly wind. We might even see the sun!
I look forward to seeing you at Swan Pool from 8.45 for a 9.00 departure, with the usual spares, supplies and appropriate clothing.
The route is from the SWCC Route Library. If you have a 'Ride With GPS' basic (free) account and have linked this with your Garmin or Wahoo etc, then click the 'Send to Device' button on the Map below and the route will be downloaded to your device when you next synchronise.
If you don't have this set up yet and would like to, hit 'Send to Device' and RWGPS will take you through the process.
Alternatively, click 'View Full Version' to download a GPX or FIT file via 'More' (web) or three dots (app).

The route is 45 miles (72km), and 1,500ft (460m) of climbing including Ashendon Hill, with the café at 29 miles. If the weather is kind we could extend this by a few miles through upper Winchendon and the Waddesdon Estate.
I look forward to seeing you at Swan Pool from 8.45 for a 9.00 departure, with the usual spares, supplies, appropriate clothing and mudguards!

Obviously its up to you @ChrisP, but it'll be the usual 15-17mph and no-one gets dropped. Also, the A's are going to the same stop as a step-up ride tomorrow, so anyone fancying a faster ride can ride with them.
Either way..I hope you feel better soon. -

Hi...
For this Sunday's B-ride we'll be heading to a café I haven't been to for a while - The Coffee Barn at Liscombe Park, Soulbury.
The route is 51 miles (82km), and 2,200ft (670m) of climbing, with the café stop at half distance. The route will be slightly shorter if we can get through Passenham and use Ox Lane from Padbury on the day, but for now the route diverts around the flooding there.
The current forecast suggests the possibility of some rain, and a gentle breeze from the South-East to help us on the way home.
I look forward to seeing you at Swan Pool from 8.45 for a 9.00 departure, with the usual spares, supplies, appropriate clothing and a smile!

The White Horse Challenge looks like a well organised event through some lovely countryside, and not far from Buckingham. It might also be challenging enough to be a useful warm-up for those entered in the 'Fred Whitton' or 'Tour of the Peaks' events a few weeks later. Personally it will be my first ever Sportive!
Starting in Shrivenham (~50 miles from Buckingham), there are two routes offered which take in some of the most beautiful parts of Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire, including Lambourn and Marlborough Downs and passing by chalk white horses:
90 miles, 5200'
70 miles, 4300'The event fee is £35, including food stops, mechanical support etc - See the website and Rider Instructions for full details. The event raises money for WaterAid.
Registration on the day is from 07:00, and riders start any time between 07:30 and 08:30
Assuming there are other takers, I'm sure we can help each other with transport nearer the time.
Please hit the attending button if you decide to ride.Thanks...Mark
