@StewartB I don't seem to be able to get your Garmin link to work.

Weather permitting I'm planning to ride to Bugbrooke Community Café on Friday 25th October (tomorrow). The 42 mile route is : https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/315669416. There's a few hills on the route but nothing too strenuous and the pace will be whatever suits those riding.
The ride will start from CHACKMORE CARPARK at 9:30 am (to avoid the Chackmore school run). If you want to pick up the ride somewhere on route then that's fine; Just let me know your plans.
So, if you'd like to join me then please hit the 'I'm attending button'. Everyone welcome.
Finally, please note that this is NOT an official club ride.

Hi @KatieR. Sorry but I'm pulling out as my sore throat on Sunday was the prelude to a bit of man flu. Hope you have a great ride.

So, my favourite Cotswold coffee shop has decided to close on Mondays!! So, I've had to change the route so we can go to another of my favourites - The Cotswold Distillery. Here's the new route https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/295381310.
I bet there aren't many rides that start at a Brewery, stop at a Distillery and end back at the Brewery!

Hi @TomGreatorex. I'll join you at Chackmore as it will save me riding into town and back out again.

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY
Hi, John Hamilton and myself are planning a day out in the Cotswolds on the Glorious 12th - but we won't be shooting grouse. No, we'll be riding our bikes around some of the lovely back roads, stopping off at a nice coffee shop and finishing up at a brewery!
The route starts, and finishes, at The Hook Norton Brewery, stopping off at the Illmington Community Cafe for coffee. I've tried to keep the route reasonably flat but it is the Cotswolds so there will be some lovely hills to climb. The proposed route is as follows : https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/295381310
As regards pace John and myself are aiming for a good B ride standard but I'm sure the terrain will be the major factor in determining our actual speed.
The plan is to drive to Hook Norton Brewery and park our cars there for the day. We'll then complete the ride and have some (probably very) late lunch at the Brewery Restaurant.
The plan isn't set in stone so if you have any thoughts, comments or ideas to contribute then please do let me know. But, if you are interested then please hit the attending button, put the date in your diary and look out for more details over the coming weeks.

Hi @PaulW. I'll join the ride but please don't worry if I drop off at any point as the hills will be a challenge. I want to do as much riding as I can but it's going to be a slow process rebuilding my strength.

@lizcanyon great to see somebody puts some thought and creativity into this side of the club. Personally, I like the idea of awaydays.

As Mike and I recover from our respective "Mens Issues" we thought we'd try a ride that's a bit faster / longer than the C ride but not as fast / long as the B ride. I'm not sure what pace I will actually achieve but I'm aiming for circa 14.5 mph. I'm sure @Mikec can maintain that sort of pace quite comfortably. So, if anyone gets dropped it will be me - but I'm fine with that!
The Coffee stop is Hogshaw Farm, after c 20 miles and the total distance is around 41 miles.
Here's the route : https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/268515261
We'll meet at Swan Pool for a 9:00 am depart.
If anyone wants to join us then you'd be very welcome - even if you're not recovering from "Mens Issues"!
FINALLY, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A CLUB RIDE.

@JohnH The last time I drove the road from Blakesley to Maidford it was closed for major works by Anglian Water. It said that it could be closed until 29th March so you might want to check this out.
