Swans' Brill Summer Event

What?
Our club summer event for 2016. All three club rides (leisure, medium and fast) will ride out to meet at Brill for a club photo by the windmill and then onto Quainton for refreshments at the George and Dragon coffee shop (paid for by the club as long as you've signed up in advance!). Upon return to Buckingham there'll be tea/coffee and Swan Wheelers cakes at Solstice Cycles.

When?
Sunday 11th September 2016

Where do we meet?
The rides will meet as usual at the Swan Pool, London Road at the usual time of 08:45. Each ride type will take different routes to Brill but will aim to get there for the same time.

How long will we be out?
We'll aim to keep the rides to the usual distance, but the with the photograph at Brill and the refreshment stop the total time will be a little more, so please plan to be out for an additional hour to the usual club run.

What do I need to bring?
Just the usual club bits, you, your bike, a helmet and a smile for the photograph. Please, also wear your Swan Wheelers jersey (if you have one).

Can I do anything?
Yes please...

If you're coming, please, please, please hit the Yes, I'm attending button in this post! We need to give the coffee shop an idea of how many will be coming in advance, so if you could do this as soon as possible that would be appreciated.

We'll also need ride leaders for the day so if you're interested in planning and leading the ride that day, please contact Paul Seaborn. It will require a little bit more planning than the usual club run as you'll need to coordinate with the other ride leaders to make sure everyone arrives at Brill as close together as possible.

Hi Matt unable to make 11th as will be in London watching elton John etc in the park Birthday present from Danny. Hope all have a enjoyable and safe ride.

Really sad I can't make it as I will be overseas - again. Hope all have fun and if anyone is good at Photoshop maybe I can be there after all ;-)

Looking forward to it but sadly no club kit yet, will try my best to blend in or hide at the back of picture!

Hi Stephenie, I could let you borrow a spare top, however it will be a mans size large.
Let me know if you would like to borrow it, even if it's just for the photos.

I have said yes (sorry I am late), but it is dependant on the severity of a stag do Saturday night! However, the stag is a lightweight, so I may be ok.

I can't believe I'm going to miss this event, hope you all have a great ride and have a cake for me.... Enjoy...

A summer event and the sun shone! Wow!

Thank you very much to everyone who helped make today happen. The ride leaders @StephenT @Woods and @paulS who planned out the routes and kept everything to time; @stack for the teas and coffees at Solstice and most of all @lucyS for sorting out a brilliant coffee stop after the Pheasant at Brill let us down at the eleventh hour and, of course, for the absolutely delicious Swan Wheelers cup cakes!!

Finally, thank you to everyone who turned up today and made the event an excellent, whole club affair.

Thoroughly enjoyable ride out to Brill, great company, great club. Thanks guys & gals :-)

I hope to get the Swans 2016 at Brill photo up as the main photo on the website, Strava and Facebook in the next day or two.

Although of late I haven't been riding as much as I would have liked. Today made up for it. A brilliant ride in superb company. Well done everyone, and a special thanks to P S for his patience with this frustrating old codger, and to Lucy for arranging the venues. Not to mention Lucy's brilliant cakes.

What a wonderful ride out that was today, beautiful weather, views and company. Thanks to Lucy and the organising team, a brilliant idea plus the Cake & tea was much appreciated. I look forward to the pictures now. Well done to the medium riders for the excellent ride out and up the climb, a new challenge for some so 👍. But have say the peloton on to Quainton with the perfusion of Swans kit on display was quite frankly awesome to be part off.
