  • Hi Everyone,
This addition was yet another members request tabled at the April AGM that we've now planned for you, we have secured the services of Andy Spencer a local Paramedic to help us with this training, so I'm sure it will be great for all level's of knowledge for the likes of me.. who have none to a handy refresher for you others that have had some in the past.

So please do add this to your diary as I'm hoping that many of you will be taking up this offer for 1st Aid Training? If so please just tap the customary Attending Button.

Sorted of related to this subject we now have Thermal Blankets that are currently being distributed to your Ride Leaders in case of emergency's to.

    Regards,
    Paul

  • sorry, dropped out as I have a cold so dont want to annoy anyone. Hope it goes well

  • Firstly it's thanks to Andy S for his expertise on the evening and the approach taken, no being swathed in bandages etc. as he choose the talk to the 13 attendees by journeying through the human anatomy with a few scenarios to chat about during the evening.
So where did we go? we started at the head about Concussion, Neck, Collarbone, Rib's, Femur, Tourniquet's, Heat Stroke/Exhaustion, Heart Attack, Epilepsy, TIA's, Giving pain relief (paracetamol) to What should we carry (keep it simple), 999-v-101 etc..
Also discussed Riders with Medical issues - are they known? what can you really do?
The use of 'WhatThreeWords' for 999 call's?
The Watch Words were Keep it calm - Stop - Think - Act

I think this was all appreciated by those attendees present as certainly something to think about going forward..
