Midweek to Spokes

This Wednesday's we're heading to Spokes. A nice flattish38mile round trip.
Forecast looks ok -ish atm but be prepared for a spot of rain late morning.
Please bring spare inner tubes, water, payment methods etc.
Meet at the Swan Pool at 9.15am Wednesday morning.

Hello Stuart,

The top part of Cowpastures Lane (between Whittlebury and the A5) is currently closed, and in fact non-existent, so you cannot take that route. The nearest alternative is to go via Wood Burcote, which is also closed, but there is pedestrian access. I have only used it on the weekend when the workmen are not working, so not 100% sure that it's passable during the week.

As James says mile 10 Cowpastures is closed at the A5 end and the temptation is to go round Pury End and pop out onto the A5 at Cuttle Mill. However Highways have removed the safe right turn lane at Heathencote and signed as a No Right Turn.
So again James is right about the possibility of Wood Burcote but I've not used it since they closed that road but apparently they've put in a rough gravel path suitable for walkers.
Sorry I can't suggest a more positive alternative, but better you know now rather than on Wednesday.

Hold fire, I'm bored, so I'm driving down to Wood Burcote to have a look 😅

@StuartMcMahon - you could try Harley Equestrian ( https://www.harleycountrylifestyle.com/c­afe ) as an alternative, save crossing the A5.
