Hi everyone, at the last committee meeting we decided it might be a good idea to provide some āRide Leader trainingā. This is aimed at any current or budding leaders and everyone is welcome. It will involve showing you how to create routes on route planners such as Garmin connect, Ride with GPS and Strava. How to create and post an event on the club forum. Also we will offer advice on leading a ride on the day. The proposed date and time for this is Thursday 13th Feb at 7:30pm in The Viliers. Please let us know if you plan to attend and if the date and time are suitable.

HI Swans
This Sunday see's Lorna leading the Leisure ride on a 30 mile loop. The destination for refreshments is Thrift Farm which we reach at 17 miles.
The route takes us from Buckingham to Gawcott, Lenborough, Steeple Claydon, Verney Junction, Winslow, Swanbourne, Mursley to our stop. Then home again via Whaddon, Nash, Thornborough, Leckhampstead, Akely and Maids Moreton.
The weather forecast looks favourable but bring a rain jacket just in case.
Everyone is welcome. You just need a road worthy bike, a crash helmet and a desire to push the pedals round and have fun.
Hopefully we'll see you on Sunday morning - 8:45am at Swan Pool.

Hi Swan C's
This Sunday's C ride is heading South to find the warmer climate??!!?? at Twyford Village Stores for Coffee and food. The route is a 40 mile loop with around 1200ft of climbing (according to "Ride with GPS") so considerably less than the last couple of Sunday rides.
The stop is at 29 miles and there is the option to trim some miles off at the end if necessary.
The forecast is dry with a moderate southerly wind but there will no doubt be plenty of standing water so please respect your fellow riders and fit mudguards.
If you fancy joining me please click "I'm Attending" and I'll see you at Swan Pool at 8:45am on Sunday morning.
Cheers
Guy

Hi Swans
This weeks C ride sees my return after a few weeks off and takes us to The Forge at Culworth which is a new one for me hence I've pinched one of Niall's routes.
The weather looks set to be dry but cold and there will doubtless be plenty of puddles so please fit mudguards to your bike.
Please click the "I'm attending button" and I'll see you on Sunday morning.
Cheers

Hi Swans,
As the Leisure and C rides are both going to Thrift Farm for refreshments I thought we would join them.
It is a 42 mile loop taking in Gawcott, Preston Bissett, (half a mile of bumpy road, sorry but just trying to change it up a bit), Calvert, Middle, East and Botolph Claydon, North Marston, Granborough, Winslow, Swanbourne and Mursley to our stop at 29 miles.
After a re-fuel its on the way home via Whaddon, Nash, Thornborough, Padbury , Lenborough and Gawcott.
An average pace around 16mph should give us about 2 1/2 hours riding plus the stop.
There may be a bit of the wet stuff so please be prepared and fit mudguards to look after your fellow riders.
Click the "I'm attending" button and I'll see you on Sunday morning.
Cheers
Guy

Hi Swan A riders
This Sunday is the Autumn Equinox whole club meet at The George & Dragon, Quainton so an ideal chance for the faster B's to try the A ride... NO ONE WILL BE DROPPED.
With Pat and Phil unavailable and James injured you lucky lot get me to lead you...I mean try to keep up with you!!
The route is 50 miles with a couple of hills to test you at Oving just before the stop and Ashendon just after.
The stop is at 28miles so at a 17mph average we should arrive just gone 10:30am and perhaps get first dibs at the cakes.

Hi Swans
This Sunday the B ride will be heading into the warm Southerly wind on a 49 mile loop via our stop for refreshments at Water Perry Garden Centre. The average pace will be around 16mph but as always, no one will be dropped.
If you can make it, I'll see you at 8:45am on Sunday morning.
Cheers

Hi Swans
This Sunday the B ride is heading to The Green Dragon Eco Centre at Hogshaw (because we haven't been there for a while) on a 47 mile round trip. The stop is around the 27 mile mark. Ride With GPS says 1700ft of climbing and I can't think of anything nasty in there. The pace should be around 16mph but no one will be dropped.
Please click the "I'm Attending" button and I'll look forward to seeing you at 8:45am on Sunday morning (or just after...I'll do my best).

Hi Swan C's
In the absence of Niall and Stewart this Sunday, you get me as your illustrious leader...ā¦.well, I'll turn up with a route and a ride sheet and we'll see what happens.
There is another caveat in that it's a slightly shorter than usual route at 33 miles as I need to get home as soon as possible to leave for our summer holiday and my lovely wife has made it perfectly clear what she will do to me if we're late for our flight!!
With that in mind we are heading to Twyford for refreshments via Gawcott, Preston Bissett, Chetwode, Stratton Audley, Marsh Gibbon, Edgcott, outskirt's of Calvert to our stop at 18 miles.
It's then back via the Claydons - Steeple, Botolph then East, Sandhill, Padbury, Lenborough and Gawcott.
I will be peeling off at Steeple Claydon so please download the route if your not sure of the way home.
Please click "I'm attending" and I'll see you on Sunday morning
Distance: 33 miles
Terrain: Pretty flat
Pace: Whatever your comfortable with and at the pace of the slowest riderhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/30634101
To download the route, click on "View full version" then "Export GPX file" then choose which format you want - apparently "fit course" is best for Garmin devices.

Hi Swans
We are desperate for new leaders, particularly for the A and B rides.
Some of our regular leaders are temporarily unavailable and with the summer hols approaching it leaves us with either the same leaders doing it all the time or no leaders available and thus having to cancel rides.
It would be great if any of you could become ride leaders. It really isnāt that difficult, just pick a cafe destination and post a route on the forum. If you donāt want to plot your own route, there are many routes already saved by the regular leaders. Just let us know and we will help.
Thanks
Guy
SATURDAY...SATURDAY...SATURDAY
Hi Swan Leisure riders,
This Sunday the weather forecast is rain and wind gusting to over 50mph so too dangerous to ride in and therefore all Sunday rides are cancelled.
We are though, running a Leisure ride on Saturday. The start time and location are the same as usual, meet outside Swan Pool at 8:45am for a 9am start.
The destination for coffee and cake is Twyford Stores which we reach at 17 miles. Then it's a 15 mile run home but we can shorten if necessary.
Everyone is welcome. Just turn up with a road worthy bike and a crash helmet and don't forget some money for the all important cake or perhaps even a bacon sandwich!
Please register your attendance by clicking the "I'm attending" button and please note that if nobody has registered attendance by Friday evening, the ride will be cancelled.
Hope to see you on Saturday
Guy
