Rain now looks increasingly likely as the morning progresses - so the opportunity to bail mid morning looks like a bonus.

I have Grandchildren up for the week-end so unable to accompany you Malc.

Hope to see you in the morning unless it’s torrential.

I think this is a sound ride concept @Malman to maybe tease others out as you were trying to do but alas I think the weather really undermined your valiant attempt this week and you did well to at least got a lap in to show it can work.
So something the other leisure ride leaders should consider occasionally for the future. -

Thank Paul, I will give it another try or two to keep trying something different. Posting leisure rides on HSBC 'lets ride' on the British cycling website to see if more people browse that, than the hidden club site rides.
This week I have selected two 15 mile rides around Buckingham, out and back. I have specifically chosen this format for any riders around the town who have been wanting to join a ride, but put off by the time commitment, or distance.
This format will allow any rider to be dropped off back in Buckingham after the coffee stop, or indeed choose to continue with the ride, if feeling good about their level of fitness.
For the first loop we will head to Gawcott, Finmere, Shalstone, Boycott, Stopping at Stowe cafe for refreshments, before returning down Stowe Avenue to Buckingham to complete the first 15 miles.
For those continuing, we will head out up to Maids Moreton, Leckhampstead, Thornborough, Coombs, Padbury, Lenborough, Gawcott, returning to Buckingham again, for completion of the second 15 mile loop.

Weather is now looking dodgy but perhaps it will allow us the first loop, chilly compared to recent, so an extra layer and waterproof is advisable. A moderate breeze from the South shouldn't factor too much, as we will not be heading in one direction for too long.
To new riders...don't forget to wear a helmet, we have a no helmet, no ride policy, sorry!
Do bring a drink, you may be surprised how quickly you develop a thirst on a ride. And also bring something to snack on to boost your energy.
Those living along the route, if you want to join the ride as it passes, just let me know your intention, so I can keep a lookout for you. We will be riding at around 12mph ( 1 mile = 5 mins). So calculate how soon we will arrive, and make sure you are ready to join as we appear.
I think that covers everything, if not just call me on 07952 226898. Hope this ride strikes a cord with others looking for a start to getting back on their bikes.
See you Sunday, Malc
