SWANS Track Event – Derby Arena Velodrome – Friday 20th January 2023
We have organised an opportunity for those who have never ridden inside a velodrome or would like another go. It is a very different experience to riding on the road – the bikes have one fixed gear and no brakes! But don’t worry, it really is great fun, not to say exhilarating!!!
No equipment necessary – we can hire bikes and shoes (not needed if you have Look/Keo plates)
We will have one hour on the track supervised by a track coach to guide us and help us to get the most out of our session.
Booking:
Our track booking is 8.00 – 9.00 pm on Friday 20th January

Car parking is available at the venue.
Costs:
BC Registered Club package
Track Hire (max 16 riders) £152.00
Coach £30.50
Bike £8.50
Shoes £6.90
Cost per rider £26.81

The cost per rider assumes we have 16 riders. Individual cost would be less if you don’t hire shoes.

Sounds great. I'm keen to have a go and see if i can get around with out breaking my neck

Extremely tempted to give it a go having missed out on two previous opportunities🤔😳

May need to check work calendar but would like to come even if I just watch 🚴🏻‍♂️

I need to let the Derby Arena know what bikes and shoes we need to hire.
Please can you take a look at the attached form and let me know (preferably by e-mail: brashn@live.com) and/or as a post below in this thread.
Check note on pedal type above to check if you need to hire shoes or not.
Also, following a few questions, can I clarify that we have NOT hired a coach to get to and from Derby - the coach is a real live track cycling instructor!
Hopefully, we can group together in cars for the travel.

Good news, we have 16 riders signed up and paid up (and 2 reserves waiting in the wings!)
Just wanted to remind everyone that your bike/shoe hire can be paid for on the night as follows:
Bike hire: £8.50
Shoe hire: £6.90
At least there will nt be any snow/ice inside the track arena!
