Training ride for those doing the Suffolk ride or other sportives in the next coming weeks.
A loop of 53 flattish miles stopping at the milk shed and possibly 2nd stop for a caffeine hit at either Molly’s or Phoenix kitchen. (TBD on the day)
This is strictly a 12- 13mph average ride, depending on who’s attending, with a focus on distance not speed. Lots of support will be given, no one left behind!It’s currently looking a bit meh 🫤 weather wise so please come prepared maybe with mudguards fitted!
Bring with you spare inner tube, water, money/card etc. It might be a good idea to bring whatever gels or energy bars you may want to use on the day to try them out to see if they suit you.
I am happy to take 7 riders, I currently have 6, but if more want to come along, feel free to form a 2nd group and you may go at a pace that suits you.
Please hit attending button above!
Hopefully see you tomorrow at 9:15am for a9:30ish start. Thanks!

Hello Leisure riders! This will be my first time leading a leisure ride so I have chosen a 21 mile loop stopping at Phoenix kitchen in the beautiful grounds of Claydon House for refreshments. This ride is perfect for anyone coming back to cycling from an illness or injury or for those who are relatively new to cycling, although some experience of cycling on a road is recommended.
The route is fairly flat and on relatively quiet roads, going through Padbury, The Claydons and Preston Bissett. The cafe stop will be roughly half way through the route.
The pace will be set by you, we will stop for breaks and no one will be left behind even on those hills!
At the moment the weather is looking a bit mixed and we may see some rain showers so please be prepared, but it does often change so keep an eye on any updates!
Please bring with you a spare inner tube that fits your bike as I may not have one that's suitable for you, bring some cash/card for the cafe, and a helmet is a MUST!
Please sign up for this ride by clicking 'I'm attending' button above, and I'll see you by the bike racks at 8:45am for a 9am start!
Thank you!

@ChrisP Is this any better?

@ChrisP. No, I’m sorry. I use Wahoo, but save the route off of Strava as a GPX

@CorinneP Ok, no problem!

Hi Midweekers! We are off to Thrift farm cafe this week. We will first head south on a 37 mile loop, stopping at the cafe at around the 20 mile mark. Then we will take an undulating but pretty route through the Wealds, Passenham and back through Leckhamstead.
Weather is looking ok at the moment, but still a little fresh. We will meet at Swan pool at 9:15am for a 9:30am start.
Please bring a spare inner tube in case of punctures, helmet and cash/card for the cafe.
Want to join me? then please hit the 'I'm attending' button and I will see you by the bike racks!
Thanks!

Hello! It’s looking a quite wet tomorrow. 😬 I am still happy to ride, but understand if any of you don’t wish to and would prefer to meet at the cafe. My only concern would be of any flooding, in particular the road leading into Thornborough from Leckhamstead. I will check this out in the morning, and if it’s impassable then will change the route accordingly.
I would still like to hear your thoughts on tomorrow, if you want the route shortened, if you’d rather bail etc. let me know. Of course if want to ride, don’t forget waterproofs, mudguards, snorkel etc. Thanks! 😊 -
@KatieR Hi Katie! Yes, we go past your house. We will give you a shout!! 😀

Hello C riders! It’s our Spring equinox ride! For some of you this will mean equal hours of daylight and night. For most of us it also means a social ride, meeting the other groups at the cafe with free coffee and cake courtesy of our lovely club!! What’s not to love? ☺️👏👏
Our route will take us through Maids Moreton, Thornborough, Nash, little Horwood, Winslow before reaching Phoenix cafe at 20 miles. It’s a bit lumpy, but we will get most of that out the way before the coffee stop. We head back on a more flattish route towards Twyford and Chetwode completing our 36 mile loop.
As always this is a non drop ride averaging 13-15mph, and I will give plenty of support to help you up the hilly bits.
Weather is looking a bit fresh so dress appropriately and bring a spare inner tube suitable for your bike.
Fancy it? Then don’t miss out! Remember that the clocks go forward, so set your alarm and hit the ‘I’m attending’ button!
Hopefully see you Sunday morning,
Thanks! 😀👍

@StuartMcMahon Hi! Road from Little Horwood to Mursley is closed but there is a diversion in place through Swanbourne.
