@StuartMcMahon, @StewartB sorry but I'm ducking out. In fact it would be better if I was a duck given the amount of surface water!

This week's Wednesday ride is venturing north to a new café at Blisworth Hill Farm (https://www.bhp-offices.co.uk/cafe-and-gym). This means that you'll have the wind at your back all the way home!
There are two routes on offer. I shall lead the longer route (c. 40 miles) https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/247035028
And Kirsty will lead the less long route (c. 33 miles) https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/247034516
Neither route has any hills in them at all - although there are a few inclines along the way just to keep things interesting!
Please come prepared for whatever you think the weather will be like and don't forget spare inner tubes if you need them, as well as money for coffee, cake, etc. As ever we meet at Swan Pool at 9:15 am for a 9:30 am depart.
So, if you want to come along then please hit the "I'm attending button".

Here's another great chance to come with me to my current favourite café, The Grain Store at Middle Aston. The ride will start and finish at the Duck Pond in Tingewick (just to make things easy for Stuart). We will meet there for a prompt start at 9:30 am. The weather looks dry although it is forecast to be a bit windy, which means it should be blowing us home on the second half of the ride!
Here's the full route : https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/246926676
If you want to join me hit the "attending" button. And, if you have any other comments or suggestions then please let me know - but, there's not much I can do about the hill up to North Aston! There's no other way to get there without going up a hill!
Finally, please note that this is not an official club ride.

@chriswilkes your policy is very sensible, in fact I've been doing the same. But I was very surprised to see your note on Sunday morning as here in Akeley there really was no sign of frost at all. So, being the B ride leader I had to make a decision quickly and wanted to double check the facts. Stuart confirmed that there was some frost in Tingewick but I took the view that it would probably dissappear quite quickly and it would be safe to ride. So, I took the decision to go and fortunately it turned out fine. Anyway it's a shame you missed the ride as you'd have enjoyed it. I'll have to do the ride again sometime so you can come along. See you Wednesday?
-
@chriswilkes are you sure? No ice or frost in Akeley and we're higher up than Buckingham.

The B ride this Sunday will be going to the "fabulous" Grain Store; a new coffee stop that has recently opened in Middle Aston. The A riders went there last Sunday and were very impressed!
The weather looks good (for January). The terrain is generally rolling hills but there is a small climb just before the coffee stop and a steep(ish) descent just after.
Here's the full route : https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/245756458
We meet at the usual place, at the usual time (8:45 am for a 9:00 am depart) and don't forget the essentials, i.e. spare tubes, cash, strong legs, etc.
So, if you want to join me then please hit the "I'm attending" button.

Hi, @TallTim🚴💨. I know Google say the Rectory is open but their website and Facebook says that the farm shop and cafe aren't open until the 1st March. It does take some time to find on there but I'm pretty sure it is closed.
-
@ElaineE, That's fine by me.
-
-
@PaulW could you please bring that Jersey for Spokes. Thanks.
-
@JohnH I hope people aren't confused by the date in the title for the ride.
-
@StewartB, if we are too early we could always stop at the Milk Shed.
-
Hi @ElaineE I'm considering getting some shares in the Limes Farm business too. What's the current share price? 😅
-
Hi @TallTim.
Hate to be the harbinger of bad news but, unless the Musette has re-opened very recently then i think you will find it closed. There is another coffee stop called Poppies in Aldbury village hall. https://www.poppiesaldbury.com/ It should be open on Sunday but you might want to double check. And, if you fancy a hill climb you could go up Old Tom's Hill as Poppies is right at the bottom of the hil.

@JohnH, @chriswilkes, @CorinneP - The forecast for tomorrow in the Tring area looks okay. There's a chance we might get a shower but hopefully it will stay dry. So, I'll see you there at 10 am. NB : The carpark doesn't open until 10 am so if you are early it might still be shut.
-
Thanks @PaulW

Hi, I've tidied up the route to remove a few glitches so this is the final version : https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/184057695
Please note there are a couple of cat 4 climbs on the route including "Old Tom's Hill" just after we've gone through Aldbury but I'm told it's a rewarding climb. The weather forecast for Friday doesn't look too bad but I will make a final call on Thursday evening and let you know if there is a need to postpone the ride .

Thanks @KeithA

Thanks @KatieR

Thanks @PaulW. As you've probably noticed I've been there a couple of times recently and told the owner I'd be bringing a small group along on Sunday and she agreed to open a bit earlier 😀
As you say @PaulW the forecast for Wednesday is dire! But Thursday looks better. So, as long as the forecast doesn't deteriorate, then I might go out for a spin on Thursday morning. So, if anyone else is interested then please let me know and I'll publish a route for a NON-CLUB (Other) ride.
