Club kit order forms now available on the club kit page of the website (or go straight to the order form here). Short sleeve jerseys and bib shorts are on available for this spring order.
The deadline for orders is 29 May 2016 and please be aware that our orders with Velotec are subject to a minimum quantity.
I've dropped a couple of paper copies of the form off with @stack (aka Paul @ Solstice) so if you haven't got access to a printer, please head down to the shop to collect one.
To avoid delays placing the order due to chasing people for money we won't be accepting order forms without the accompanying payment; which needs to be cash or cheque please.
Any queries, please let me know... and don't forget to have your say on whether "Buckingham" should feature on the kit via this one question survey

I hope to be able to make the club kit order form available on Thursday. I will post here once we're all set. The process will be slightly different this year in that we will be asking for payment along with your order form - this is to help prevent delays in the club being able to place the order.
In the meantime, please give your views on the suggestions given in the forum and at the social last week about the inclusion of "Buckingham" on the club kit. Velotec have confirmed they can do this for us if we so wish.
It's a very quick, one question survey. It's completely anonymous - no names are collected.

Hi @JohnnyG
I've been back through the calendar (both current and the BC one) but can't find any record of rides starting at 8 before. The original start time was 09:45 on the first rides but this got put back to 08:45 in the summer last year where it's stayed.
I can understand the rationale and desire for an earlier start for some, particularly for those of us with young families, but it may not be ideal for all.
At the social last week there was a suggestion that once a month the rides are longer (eg 50-60 miles) and that those have an earlier start to accommodate the extra distance. Perhaps this would be a fair compromise? Unless of course there is a large majority in favour of changing the start time.
Cheers
Matt

There's a new section on the forum entitled "Suggestion box" which is to do what it says on the tin!
Please add your suggestions for the club, events, socials, rides, could something be done better?... any topic.
Some may be easy to do, some may require a poll among the members, others may need discussing at the committee meetings, but all ideas are very welcome.

I'm really sorry to report that we've missed the deadline for entry. We didn't get enough interest to be able to enter a team of the required gender mix.
The new committee met for the first time last week and one of the aspirations expressed for the coming year was to increase membership numbers and whilst doing so increase diversity. We'll be working on how we go about that over the coming weeks and months but one thing is certain and that's that we'll need everyone's help to be successful. And if we are then we'll be in a much better position to grab opportunities like this when they come along in the future.

Okay we've only received the two expressions of interest. If we can't fill all the places we'll loose the team entry. We have until 27 April.
We have two ladies' spaces vacant. If no members are interested, does anyone have a female cycling acquaintance who wants to enter? They would need to join the club of course.

It's St George's Day on Saturday so I wanted a very English ride for Sunday. After discounting plotting a crazy route that would give us a St George's cross on Strava afterwards, we're going for a very English ride through the self proclaimed 'rose' of the shires, Northamptonshire (rose being the flower of England - tenuous yes, but I think I can get away with that). And what could be more English than tea and cakes at a National Trust venue?!
We'll be doing the Preston Capes and Canon's Ashby route from the Route Library.
Refreshments will be at the NT team rooms at Canon's Ashby.

If you're driving to the AGM tonight there is directly parking outside the village hall and on the road opposite. However, if that all fills up you could try the Crown car park or failing that there will be roadside parking available on Main Street just outside the church (turn right at the bottom of Buckingham Road heading towards Tingewick and Preston B - it's a couple of minutes walk back to the village hall).

This week's leisure ride is one of three this weekend as we have taster with @JohnnyG and medium with @Woods also going out.
The plan is to do the Beachampton, Winslow and (all) The Claydons route and hopefully timing it right it so we can meet up with the taster ride at Jennie Wren's in Winslow.
Hope to see you there.

The first of the Swan Wheelers spring and summer taster ride series is this Sunday, 10 April.
We've put posters up (thanks very much to everyone who helped with that) but recommendations would go along way too. So, do you know anyone who likes cycling who you think would enjoy coming along and seeing what being part of the club is like? If so, please let them know about the taster ride this Sunday.
It starts at the Swan Pool at the usual time alongside the medium and leisure rides. @JohnnyG will be leading the taster ride and any prospective takers can find more info at http://www.swanwheelers.cc/taster-rides.html

Fantastic @keithrose - that's a really good result. Great place to get a poster up. Thanks very much - did it take much persuasion?
Here's the responses on the survey so far...
