One for the medium & fast riders this one as it's a good 54 mile ride with some 1800 ft of climbing if you follow the route posted below. It's situated South East of us so not a normal direction we get to ride in, better to be attempted for me on a quiet windless day (rare as rocking horse S...) to enjoy, a good cafe stop.

The ride to this one can be a lumpy one with 1800 ft of ascents and >50 miler to what I suppose is now a modern atypical cafe stop, with a selection of Farm produce and other stuff! But it also has a goodly selection of tea, coffee and cakes etc, at standard pricing, pot of tea & teacake Β£4:20 and with both indoor & outdoor seating...
It even has a brewery on site if that's of fancyπhttp://www.pemeadandsons.co.uk/ also has a FB page too

Shame that the brilliant weather has departed us now, so its back to normal conditions - cloudy, 19c with a windy blow from the west! So we will be heading for Kizzies at Lower Heyford.the plan is to head out to and through to Charlton onto Kings Sutton, Adderbury, Bloxham, Barford St Michael onward to Kizzies at 31 mls... the normal direct route home through Somerton, Tusmore, Finmere to home...

Hello to you all and the details for this Solstice Club Ride are as follows:
I'm assuming that you know that we're heading for, it's the George & Dragon at Quainton and I've planned for us to ride 26 miles to get there hopefully with plenty of time with the other rides.
Weather is looking ok as forecasted at the moment. So we will be riding out via Gawcott, Poundon, Marsh Gibbon, Piddington, Ludgershall to Quainton. Then back through Oving, North Marsden, East Claydon onto Padbury Mill and home..

Using a rolling system and website quote is... "The roads will close shortly prior to the event passing through and will reopen once the participants of the Cycling Tour have safely passed".. it'll be more about getting and sorting our viewing point, how busy will it be? Leave a bit earlier maybe, Thoughts please?

Good, yes 9 sounds good to me so meet at the pool as usual, it's a 62 mile ride and looking to pace it around the 13-15 mph, lunch at the Warmington Herb Centre and as Malman written will look for an earlier tea Stop as well?
It's Over 4 hrs in the saddle so please fill your pockets with your favourite snacks and fill your bottles too.
so who's up for this ride to cheer the girls on? -
A sample route to and from Edgehill stopping at Warmington for lunch..

Called into day with @Malman a good Stop and we're very welcomeing, no cakes available as all used up but happy with toasted fruit loaf.. a nice 20 mile to it..
Called in again with a Mid-Week ride again and only one choice of cake on offer... not the best!
Beware firstly that this not open on Sunday, ok.... it is situated, heading up from Somerton through the village and just on the left hand side as you turn to Middle Aston, the Yurt Cafe is part on a much bigger gardening operation.
The entrance in is of a gravel car park (care!), through the foyer, take your bike with you around to the left. Some excellent choices of cake, the tea was good for me, with the Coffee's looking impressive. Seating both in and out...
