  • Hi all,

My first ride lead in a long time. Like last week, approx 40mile route with the stop midway, few lumps and bumps out and back but nothing major. Coffee stop at the Forge at Culworth, sister café to the one at Evenley.

    Route: https://www.strava.com/routes/2857300618077553982

Remember it’s still a good idea to bring a mask.

Please hit the 'I'm attending' and meet at the Swan Pool at 9:15 am.
    Hope to see you there.

Post script: We can each take the lumps at our own pace, then regroup.

  • The ‘attending’ button is not available for some reason. I will be attending anyway. 👍

  • Thanks Rob, hasta mañana

  • Hi Chris,
Not sure if you know, but the road through Whittlebury is closed until Friday (apparently) and I couldn't see if it was a hop skip and a jump or fully shut off.

Thought I'd better let you know.

An alternative to cut out that bit would via Pury End and Paulerspury as a short detour.

    I'll also be there tomorrow.

    Regards, Mark

  • Chris, edit the date to Wednesday, currently Tuesday, therefore past due, so cannot sign on.

  • Hoping to attend, will confirm in the morning 🚴🏽♀️👍

  • Thanks Malcolm, I've edited to 4 Aug. That field appeared automatically, so I presumed it was just the date the post was created

  • Defaults to date added, but there to set with the start/finish time.

  • No gpx. File loaded, no directions so it would be helpful to have so I can create a Garmin Route please..

  • Thanks for the warning Mark, we could go via Pury End for those who don't mind a few extra miles. Alternatives are:

    1. See if bikes can get through the roadworks, which seem quite short.
    2. Cut the ride short at Silverstone and return via Dadford
      We can decide over coffee.
  • Logical enough Malcolm. I'll know for next time

  • You've gone beyond my technological knowledge Paul. However, I've clicked on Export GPX and found it created this : C:\Users\Chirs Wilkes\Downloads\Culworth and back.gpx . Does that work for you?

  • No Chris no help I’m afraid. Don’t use Strava for routes so can’t help with how to find & download the .gpx .
    done it!

  • Morning Paul, you'll need to explain the issue over coffee and I'll try to resolve it for next time.

  • We've now got 14 riders including Martin, which is too many to ride in one group. Would anyone be willing to lead an overflow group?

  • Hi, alas I'm unable to join you today, have a great ride all 🚴🏽♀️👍

  • Thanks Martin, sorry you can't come 🙁

  • Just proving to myself for future reference that my gpx file is fine. But to share it I needed to use the upload link rather than copy and paste
