SWCC Silverstone Challenge Cup

Updated this post for the August Run also this will be the last chance to get your lap times recorded to stand a change of winning this New Club Trophy. Please do take a few moments to read the revised Rules(!) for this competition. Hope to see you all there.

This is the third evening of fun to be had riding the totally smooth, pothole free F1 circuit.
Great for us bigies and our littlies alike and worth the £5 entre fee for us bigies, note that it is worth to pre-booked if the queue is as long as it was at the May event.

As the title suggest following the chairman’s excellent idea we’ve decided to have a fun new competition with the trophy, yet to be constructed (more on that another time) to be presented at the AGM 2019.
So I expect that you’d like to know more about the “Why’s & Where For’s” for our new Trophy 🏆 addition yes..
So please have a read of the the attached file as it’s not about the faster Lap but the best improvement...
The May evening times have been recorded but would still like those who rode in the cold, wet April event to send me there Lap times, a picture of our Strava segment will be required to confirm.
So come on you Swans come up have some fun and well swamp the circuit with a Flock of Swans..

Previously I wrote... yet another fun evening on the track was had i think by all that attended..
A few did a fun chain gang / drafting laps again for FUN but your Strava recorded times will have been faster? So need to adjust to solo times please.
@JamesT has posted me his actual best time on one of his solo laps - thanks
So for you other 'gang' participants can you please post me your solo times if 'chain gang' lap was a better one than your solo times? need to keep the competition fare/real.

was a great evening and looking forward to the July one. Perhaps we can get a bigger flight of swans for that one!!

Pretty impressed myself, with the flock of Swans I saw in flight at the June Silverstone event. It was a great evening ride, admittedly exhausting, but enjoyable effort. To see a bigger flock than that would be amazing!
The beer afterwards was a great idea, and finished the evening off perfectly.

Dont forget this is on again this month. Monday 23 July.

The scores on the doors have been compiled and updated on the club website
Adam is currently leading the comp with a 1 minute improvement with 1 opportunity to improve available.

This is great Pat (and Paul for the statistics), good job, thanks. Not so great is that I have to shave another 32 seconds off my lap time 😮 hmmm that’s gonna hurt😂

Apologies for the delay with posting last nights (August) results and it was good to see so many Swans attending on what was an extremely busy night, whilst dry it was a rather windy event and certainly did do me any favours!
That was the final round for the clubs Challenge Trophy So with a few you away and Adam injured it was really up to @StewartB to see what he could do to maybe snatch the lead back from Adam? Did he??? so its congrats to???
Well done to you all that have attended this fun event over the summer and looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in 2019 already, anyway please see that attached for the full result.

@PaulW, All - when I spoke to the marshall at the end of the session last night, he said they were thinking about running an extra session in September. So there may yet be a further round! He advised us to keep an eye on the Silverstone Running and Cycling Club website in case they do announce an extra session.

Thanks Paul. Really pleased with that, just a shame that Adam was injured, hope you are feeling better. Great fun and good to see so many Swans making the effort to attend.

Congratulations to all 18 Swans who took part...you are all winners in my book.
